Brief Description of Duties
Coordinates with faculty the establishment of an information literacy program across the curriculum; enables students, faculty and staff to access information in all formats, locally or remotely, by providing face-to-face and online instruction; provides access to course-specific online materials in course delivery systems and other online environments; creates web-based and multimedia instructional tools; collaborates in designing and maintaining effective web pages and other appropriate technology; develops and delivers electronic learning objects that meet specific information literacy needs, and promotes use of information resources. Serves as liaison to faculty developing distance/hybrid classes; and participates in planning digital library equipment. |

Qualifications Required:
Master's degree in Library Science from an institution accredited by ALA, or a Master's in Educational Technology, Media Systems, or a related field.
Qualifications Preferred:
Doctoral degree or ABD is highly desired.
Additional Qualifications:
Three years of relevant experience in a higher education institution, preferable in reference services. Demonstrated experience with Information Literacy and proficiency with the use of Blackboard, other online learning systems, emerging instructional technology, including web development applications, learning objects, social networking. Should have MS Office skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, a strong service orientation, and the ability to work in a multicultural team environment. |

Detailed Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists patrons in identifying and using information resources
- Provides reference desk assistance that including working a rotating evening and weekend schedule
- Leads information literacy initiatives and teaches patron orientation sessions
- Develops templates and online courses in information literacy and related information access topics
- Develops instructional tutorials and materials to aid users in accessing resources, using a variety of print and electronic formats
- Develops and assists faculty with web-based materials, digital and social networking objects, etc.
- Participates in collection management activities
- Participates in training and supervising support personnel and student aides
- Prepares publications, surveys, statistical data, reports, etc. relating to assessing relevant
- Attends professional meetings and engages in professional development activities
- Maintains membership in professional organizations
- Performs other associated responsibilities as assigned services and programs Serves on internal and campus-wide committees as appointed
